The development of this concept arose from the merging of the Magma and Capricornia series. The juxtaposition of fire and water is always exciting and was the basis for primordial life. The Magma rim and peaceful blue centre recall the Pacific 'Rim of Fire' or perhaps some Cosmic event such as the Big Bang hypothesis.

Looking simultaneously like distant galaxies and microscopic aquatic life forms in a hot pool, these pieces celebrate the First Dreaming. Archipelago and Gondwana form limited sub-series, being more sculptural, with deep 'volcanic' craters and large blocks of colour.

These large bowls and platters are dramatic in transmitted light, but reveal delicate, previously hidden shapes in reflected light.
